On June 9, 2026, the launch meeting for the project Research and Demonstration on Key Technologies for High-performance Eco-friendly Board and Its Functional Manufacturing — a program under the “Empowerment” Action Plan (Guangxi Key R&D Program) — was grandly held at Guangxi Nanning Mingyuan Wood Industry Co., Ltd. This project is jointly undertaken by Guangxi Nanning Mingyuan Wood Industry Co., Ltd., Guangxi Academy of Forestry, and the Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry.
The meeting gathered representatives from research institutions, universities and enterprises. A number of authoritative industry experts were specially invited, including Researcher Chu Fuxiang, former President of the Chinese Academy of Forestry; Professor Wang Ximing from Inner Mongolia Agricultural University; Professor Liu Shengquan from Anhui Agricultural University; Researcher Zhou Xiaojian from Southwest Forestry University; and Senior Engineer Zhan Manjun from Guangxi Nanning Linjing New Materials Co., Ltd. More than 20 people, including relevant management staff and technical backbones from the lead and cooperating organizations, attended the meeting.

The meeting was presided over by Researcher Wang Junfeng, Director of the Wood Industry Research Institute, Guangxi Academy of Forestry. Meng Yeming, Chairman of Mingyuan Wood Industry, delivered a welcome speech and briefed attendees on the company’s development. Afterwards, Researcher Peng Limin, project leader from the Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry, delivered a comprehensive report covering the project background, research contents, task allocation and expected outcomes.
During the expert consultation session, participating experts held in-depth discussions on the feasibility of research contents, rationality of assessment indicators, innovation breakthroughs and practical application of research achievements, and put forward constructive suggestions. Members of the project team responded and exchanged ideas with the experts on site.
The attendees also paid an on-site visit to the eco-friendly board production line of Mingyuan Wood Industry. They conducted thorough discussions on production techniques, technical difficulties and achievement application, which further clarified the approaches and priorities for project implementation.

The successful convening of the launch meeting marks the official launch of the project. Focusing on environmental protection, functionalization and cost performance, the project will boost technological upgrading and green transformation of the wood-based panel industry in Guangxi and across China, and promote the high-quality development of the forestry industry.
